Cookie Policy
This is a working draft prepared for legal review. It has not been reviewed or approved by a lawyer, it still contains unfilled placeholders written in double square brackets, and it does not create any binding obligation on Neoteric or on you. It is published so the structure can be read and corrected before the final policy is issued.
As things stand this website does not set analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies at all. This policy says what we do today and what will change if that ever stops being true.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store, so the site can recognise the browser on a later request. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, pixels, and browser fingerprinting; where this policy says cookies, it covers those too.
Cookies are usually described as first party, meaning set by the site you are visiting, or third party, meaning set by another organisation whose code the site includes.
What this website uses today
This website does not set analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or any other tracking technology. No analytics or advertising script is loaded on any page.
The site has a configuration field reserved for an analytics identifier, but it is empty and nothing in the site reads it, so no analytics is running. We are stating this plainly because it is easy to publish a cookie policy that describes cookies a site does not actually set. This one does not.
The site also does not use browser local storage or session storage to identify you. The one form on the site, Contact Sales, keeps what you type in the page only until you leave it.
Strictly necessary cookies
Our hosting and security infrastructure may set a small number of strictly necessary cookies to serve pages, balance load, or protect against abuse. These do not track you across sites and are not used for advertising.
Any such cookie is listed, with its name, purpose, and lifetime, at [[COOKIE_TABLE]]. Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent under most laws, but they are still disclosed there.
Categories that will apply if we add cookies
If we introduce optional cookies, they will fall into the categories below and this policy will be updated before they are switched on.
Analytics: to count visits and understand which pages are used, through the provider at [[ANALYTICS_PROVIDER]]. Not switched on today.
Functional: to remember a preference you have set, such as a chosen platform on the download page. Not switched on today.
Marketing: to measure the effect of a campaign or to show relevant advertising. We have no current plan to use these, and if that changes we will say so here before any such cookie is set.
How we will ask for consent
We will not set an optional cookie before you agree to it. Strictly necessary cookies are the only exception, because the site cannot be served without them.
When optional cookies are introduced, a consent banner will appear on your first visit through the mechanism at [[CONSENT_MECHANISM]]. It will let you accept all, reject all, or choose by category, and rejecting will be as easy as accepting.
We will record your choice and ask again if the categories change or after the period stated at [[CONSENT_REFRESH_PERIOD]].
How to withdraw consent or control cookies yourself
Once a consent mechanism exists, you will be able to change or withdraw your choice at any time from the same control, and withdrawing will be as straightforward as giving consent.
Independently of us, your browser lets you block or delete cookies, and most browsers offer a private browsing mode. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site working.

The Autom desktop application
Autom is a desktop application rather than a website, so browser cookies are not the right frame for it. What the application stores locally and what it reports back to us is described at [[TELEMETRY_DESCRIPTION]], and in the Software Licence.
